The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers towards the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency stated it can be alarmed concerning the higher amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The service issue made for intervention activities a substantial influx of probable beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to allow the servicing of all prospects and enhance access read more to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
